Here’s a question I’m sure has been asked before…
I sign up as an Affiliate with the one adult site.
I get my affiliate tracking code and links.
I have multiple websites (different domains).
Why do I have to create a separate account for every single domain?
Why can’t I just use the same account (affiliate tracking code link) to send traffic to the same XYZporn.com website from any of my websites?
(I do understand it might be something to do with tracking, but!)
napoleonGuestIf its a NATs program, just create a cam[paign for each domain. so you can track the hits, etc by domain, otherwise just use the default linking code. Not sure how ccBill or Epoch handle campaigns, but I don’t think you need sign up for each domain, you just use the one code, but you won’t have any breakdown on your traffic.
unless your question is something totally different, or that the sponsor is asking you to sign up for each domain you plan on using their stuff on. Most will ask for a primary domain, but have ways to add domains. could be to keep track of their content as well. but hey, who knows what goes on in the minds of some sponsors.
JamibGuestYes, I was told this by a sponsor. Makes no sense to me at all if I’m sending traffic to the same destination website unless it’s simply for tracking on their side. But it’s a pain in the ass to have to do that without an explanation of “why”.
JamibGuestPerhaps I’m just spoiled having been with AEBN for so many years. I have one affiliate code (link). Everything is tracked by that code. I do have multiple white label theatres, however, only the theatre ID is changed in my links.
JamibGuestOh, and Yes… with AEBN, you just add your different domains to your account. Not create a totally new account with different tracking codes. Wish other sponsors/programs would/could do the same!
RDudeGuestI don’t think I’ve ever seen a sponsor ask for that before that I recall. Yes, that is a royal pain in the ass. And with no reason? That sucks. I don’t know if I’d deal with them – unless they had niche sites that sold very well with my traffic.
Just my 2 cents – Best of luck with it.
pradepGuestI would refuse to create a new account for every single websites I might use to promote a sponsor. I have never heard of such thing and I would think this is a misunderstanding. Most sponsors don’t care what websites you use to promote them – some ask for one url just to check you are really an affiliate.
JamibGuestI truly wish it was a case of misunderstanding… but when I told the rep/sponsor I had multiple domains, they point blank told me I had to create another account for each domain. (no names mentioned, but this sponsor is a member on this board)
robsonGuestMuscle Partners is the only sponsor I know of that wants you to enter in all your sites before you get link codes. I only entered my blogs about bodybuilders so it wasn’t a big deal.
A lot of people here have a ton of blogs so having to enter all of these with a sponsor would be a pain. I have one site for my company that lists all my blogs so I just send sponsors to that if they ask where I’m promoting them.
JamibGuestIt’s not it robson… I really don’t want to disclose the name either publically, but I am going to email them directly about this and see where it goes and bring this thread to their attention.
