Have anyone used Facebook pages for their adult company or web site? Is this another social media website where you’re just likely to get deleted if you try to use it?
OldSchoolGuestI contemplated putting a page up on FB… after reading “what seemed for days” through all their legal BS, you can get the sense that “porn” or adult content will definitely be a “red flag”.
I did put one up for 1 of my community sites and haven’t done much with it… there just aren’t enough hours in a day for me to get everything done that I need to. I’m hoping 2017 with the new site will afford me the luxury of quitting my “daytime” job and stay home again with my web work. At least that’s my goal and without having to deal with yet another road block such as FB.
FrankZGuestThere’s a lot of adult content – but it has to be “family friendly”… No nudity. And not just the pictures are an issue – they don’t want you to write about sex either. On top of that you can’t use facebook to drive traffic to adult sites.
So basically you can’t do much of anything with it. You can’t even post a G rated pic with a link to a blog post.
kim.jinGuestI did open a profile and created a page and put in my website URL.. it gave me an option to only allow people over 18 to access it. I wonder if just adding the URL to a adult site will be a problem.
Also wanted to protect the word “gay porn” but it doesn’t seem to work like that on Facebook.
From the sound of it and after losing my Google+ pages account, I don’t think I will bother with Facebook. Will probably give Tumblr and Twitter a try instead.
PaulGuestI agree…
FaceBook is a complete waste of time for marketing adult content. They will delete accounts without cause or recourse and all the people that join your 18 or older group pages want to see is pictures. It’s a major catch 22.aniehoffGuestTwo years ago I had over 8000 fans and all of the sudden it was deleted, without any type of warning. No reason, no way to contact them, nothing… I resigned up 700 fans later deleted again. I signed up again, now I am at 230 and I waiting to get deleted any day now.
I never posted anything x-rated neither so… I don’t think that’s their issue. There are hundreds of fan sites that feature women in underwear and have over 100,000 fans and didn’t get deleted. I think the problem is that we link to porn… so maybe if you just post a picture without link it would be suited ok by their ultra sensitive assholes…
geekyzoneGuestFacebook can delete anything. It’s their property , their server … You can also delete from your server what you want.
Mr Adult AffiliateKeymasterOf course they can, but for a company that lives on people that share stuff, it would be strange if they would just delete everything they dislike.
The company is very conservative and they do not want to be associated with porn or nudity. I think you just need to have luck, cause it all depends on the reviewer and his / her definition of nudity / porn. I have heard of pages that were removed because they contained photos of old paintings (works of Rubens for example) that show breasts or nipples.
jon83GuestThey deleted one of ours too for no reason too. I just don’t get it because a one adult page has over 140k fans and has never had a problem and we never posted anything even close to what they do. It sucks that they really don’t give a clear reason or anything. Getting a page back is possible but very difficult.
zacGuestSeriously, do not waste your time with Facebook. Of course there may be some ways around this but they will ban your adult pages sooner or later. You can get a lot of better traffic and it is also easier to get visitors from Twitter or Tumblr.
