Hello,
I was registering some domain names (about 15) when Namecheap removed about 3-4 adult domains from the bulk order with the following message:Banned domains removed from cart
Please note that the following domain(s) were removed from your shopping cart as they are banned.
xxx, xxx, xxxJust to clarify, I didn’t try to register some CP domains or something similar. They have a word in common with a very well known gay porn site. Have you ever had the same experience? It sounds weird to me that someone has asked a registrar to ban some domains
Mr Adult AffiliateKeymasterYes, I had that happen to me too on NameCheap last week. It was bizarre in my case since I was only trying to register the hyphenated version of another domain I already own.
scoppioGuestWell, maybe I should ask this sponsor if they’ve done something to “block” those registrations. I’m sure after $x00,000 we’ve made together, they can trust me.
matehtGuestNameCheap is a reseller of Enom’s registrar services. We have used Enom for about 5 years and I’ve never had anything like that happen, so I’d have to suspect that it is a policy of NameCheap rather than Enom or ICANN.
Or perhaps they just had a computer glitch of some kind.
scrapebossGuestI was just able to register mine on GoDaddy without any problems. My domain didnt contain any trademarks, it was just a combination of three generic keywords. There’s definitely no chance of a sponsor being behind this ban on Namecheap.
scoppioGuestOh, damn! Same here! 3 generic keywords divided by a “-”
scrapebossGuestIt looks like any domain name with the string “-boys” is banned from being registered there. I can register the domain when i remove the hyphen.
geekyzoneGuestThats bizarre, how dare they impose their “automated” morals on what domain name I should use. I mean what if I want to register shoes-for-boys or something similar?
scrapebossGuestIt seems more like a glitch in their system than anything else. For example you could register the same keywords in other combinations such as shoesforboys.com and shoes-forboys.com, just as long as as that “-boys” string is not present.
