So, apparently, I was told that it is illegal for an adult affiliate to live in China and earn a living from anything porn related. Does anyone know if that is true? If it is, I assume the only thing an affiliate program can do is to ban all affiliates from China.
GTPGuestI think porn is illegal in lots of countries but I’m not sure if it is an affiliate program problem or just an affiliate problem. Any lawyer may help us?
JonBellGuestit is true. punishments range from some pretty stiff prison time to the death penalty, as i recall. GTP is also correct that porn is illegal in a lot of countries – iraq and iran come to mind for starters.
jackdorseyGuestI think I will run through my affiliate database to pull out those affiliates in countries where it is illegal. I don’t want to be part of an illegal venture after all. Anyone have a complete list of countries where porn (or more specifically, selling porn) is illegal?
felyxxGuestNot sure if I would do that…
It would beg the question: Should you run through your affiliate database and pull out affiliates who live in Cities and States that selling porn is illegal?
There are A LOT of cities, counties, states, municipalities, etc, where selling porn is illegal just here in the USA.
JonBellGuesttrue, but here they don’t execute them.
mansourGuestWell then you will have to pull a lot of affiliates off. There are places in every state in the USA that it is not legal to sell porn.
So that would take all of the USA out.
How can you police that since you dont know for sure if it is legal in the spot where they are or not.
GTP is right this is a affiliate problem.affdotGuestI agree, it’s illegal in tons of places in the US and Europe etc, so it really should be the affiliates problem.
