So here’s an Adult affiliate 101 type question, super basic but I was just thinking about it:

When you sign up to promote a CCBill site do you always use your same CCBill account ID or do you set up different accounts as a way to organize the sites you promote?

I’ve always used one account number which I got when I signed up with my first site years ago. So now I have a few hundred sponsors under that account.

I was just thinking today about setting up different accounts for different niches I promote, like solo sites, fetish sites, etc. Does CCBill even allow this, one person with several accounts?

The other plus to this idea is maybe a better way to handle sponsors who have closed up shop. Right now these sites are clogging up my main account and CCBill doesn’t give a way to delete them.

Just wondering what the rest of you do.

Its allowed as I have 2 (one was accidental) and it literally causes me the most issues, a password reset is now a phonecall and not a simple “i forgot my password” as the system never knows which of the accounts I want a reset for. You could use seperate emails but thats also seems a mess….

And surely the whole “selling point” of CCBill is to combine all your sales into one payment… at the end of the day I don’t think many affiliates are there for their cutting edge dashboard, superfast system and easy to find pretty links.

What would be better for you is to campaign each niche into a seperate campaign, but I have no idea if that’s possible at CCBill? Maybe fire them an email and ask?

I seem to recall we had discussions about this in the past and it’s not possible to create “campaigns” using CCBill.

You can, however, create a new reference number under the same account, if that makes sense?

So, we could sign up for a site under our main CCBill account, input the URL for one blog we want to promote them through, then go back and sign up again, under the same account, but put in the URL of another site we want to promote them through.

This way you’ll have two different links, one for each site, and each with its own reference number. The source URL for a sale will also appear in your email alerts.

However, I do believe some sponsors are not happy about affiliates doing this and they could deactivate one or more of these “campaigns” if they decide to.

If you do decide to try it I would check with the site first.

Like you I have used the same affiliate account for all the different sites I promote. But I also for a year or two had a seperate account for another site making it easier to track sales.

but You could though just as easily use same account but seperate sign-up for the site. I’ve on many occasions signed up for a site twice to track different traffic. It’s better because it’s a single payment rather than two.
