I was curious if the more experienced bloggers here could let us know which months of the year are the best, worst and average for sales for them?
After experiencing a quiet August I’m curious when sales might turn up again.
Thanks!
dzinerbearGuestAugust is horrible, but after Labour Day, things should start picking up again until December, which is up and down with all the Christmas distraction. But thank goodness people who hate Christmas love to surf porn to keep from being depressed. Early January is brutal, it just seems to take forever for people to get back to normal.
And then, any time a celebrity dies, a terrorist blows something up, or God decides throw us an earthquake or tsunami, sales lag because the world is distracted.
GayDemonGuestLast year the worst months where August and Sept. And its looking like this year will be the same.
Sales started to pickup again in Oct, let’s see if it follows that pattern. Unfortunately there is a lot else going on that could affect sales, stock markets are crashing and there is potentially a downturn in the global economy.
There is also another thing that I’ve noticed. A lot of sites suddenly offer big reductions on memberships or free trials, which means there are possibly more sales but you make less from each. I noticed that yesterday, lots of sales but very low income from each.

Keeping this in mind, sites are gambling on rebills from trials or special offers. For affiliates, this is when you might want to consider using RevShare links if they aren’t paying the normal PPS payout. Or, if they only offer these special promotions with RevShare, don’t get discouraged. With the influx of sales, there’s a good chance you’ll see rebills and earn a little more next month, the next month and so on as long as the member renews.
As a rule of thumb, if your sales are down, you can pretty well assume paysite sales are down as well
In terms of revenue from these promotions, it’s a 2 way street. Less immediate revenue for all concerned.
shaunGuestWe have a mild cuss word in Italy. Porca Miseria. It means pig misery.
August is Pig Misery.
GayDemonGuestYes, I’m afraid Sept will be worse. It’s exactly like last year. Aug was bad and Sept even worse. Just have to hope it follows the same pattern of sales going up in Oct and peak in January. However this weekend been really good.
shaunGuestWell, it’s not just us small guys either. I have a ton of models who work for me and streammate. They are reporting a shocking decrease of activity, in both free areas and paid areas.
It’s small comfort though when you have rent to pay.
On the upside, I am seeing better conversions with lower traffic – some of my affiliates who have more targeted traffic are making a sale or two per day, whereas some of my affiliates with giant traffic aren’t doing dick.
GayDemonGuestIt was exactly the same last year. Aug and Sept was just lower than the rest of the year and felt very slow. Things should pickup in Oct.
BenGuest@shaun
And this September seems to be a continuation of August’s Porca Miseria.
It’s much more eventful to watch paint dry than to look for sales these days. I don’t remember ever having such a long dry sales period.
sktsmdGuestSeptember is the worst ever month I’ve had, never experienced anything like it. Traffic isn’t as good as it used to be but still sending 500+ clicks a day and barely getting a sale a week.
Hope this improves quickly.
