Crowd-sourcing for answers here:
How do you guys handle not receiving e-mail promo content from adult affilates/studios? Some are religious about sending us content. Others not so much or never. This is probably stone age but I’ve made it a habit to scour every site at least once a week to make sure I don’t miss any new releases so I can make sure they get on Manhunt Daily. Does anyone else do this? Or is there a better way? (I tried Google Alerts just in case but it was kinda useless.) Just curious.
mike9587GuestI’m responsible for the uploads for our tubes and I have two uploaders who help me. We have a Googledoc spreadsheet where we track the date and name of the last update for each sponsor. The spreadsheet uses conditional formatting so anything uploaded within a week of today’s date shows up with a green background, anything greater than a week is yellow, and anything more than 30 days is read.
So it’s quite easy to see sponsors falling behind.
The problem is that some don’t send out regular emails and I’m constantly sending out emails asking for content. Lots of these just go unanswered. They just don’t get covered. It sucks, but what can you do?
A few sites that don’t send out mailers do have preview videos on their tour; for these we hit the site once a week or so and grab the content. This is labourious, but we do it to keep lots of variety on our tubes. But to be honest with you, if we’re overloaded with work, these are the first to get lost.
methadsGuestOk, so it’s not just me.
mike9587GuestNot at all, in fact I was going to post a list in my thread, you know, as an exercise in public shaming, but I gave that up for New Year’s, or was it Lent?
kim.jinGuestFor adult sponsors who don’t send regular updates I usually ask for an access pass and then grab pics from there. As long as I’m sending them traffic most seem OK with giving me a pass although a few say no, which is kind of odd since I’m working to help us both make money. Its not like I need more free porn in my life.
For the ones that don’t give me a pass and also do not respond to emails I have been known to join a site with my affiliate ID for a month just to grab some promo material. I suppose this might be a “no-no” but its the only other way to get promo material I can think of.
