Hi, Mister Adult Affiliate!
I was wondering if using a featured image for videos is a good idea. I do not mind the workload, but I want to know if it is worth my effort in the eyes of google. I would optimize them with unique alt text, description, title, caption etc.
Mr Adult AffiliateKeymasterI get a nice deal of organic traffic from my pictures so for me it is definitely worth the time to do this 🙂
BalaboitGuestThank you for the reply!
Can you give me an example of what to write on the tags category? I want to write original text in this area, too, although it is a lot of work. But since I am not doing backlinking, I need all the advantage I can get, by doing the hard work with texts.
Mr Adult AffiliateKeymasterDo you mean the text on tag and category archive pages or what?
BalaboitGuestThe text for tag, to tell google what the tag is about. The description of it.
Mr Adult AffiliateKeymasterYes, I do this but do not overdo this. I mean, pick the most popular tags and write descriptions for them and they do not need to be 500 words long. Here is how it is done: mylust.com/categories/hairy/
BalaboitGuestThank you!
Another question: do you know ho to stop images from stretching? If I upload an image in the category section and it has bigger height than width, it gets stretched to fill the empty space on the left and right. This distorts the image.
BalaboitGuestLet’s say I have a video with a babe who cheats on her boyfriend. But my featured image shows only her in a leather outfit, nothing sexual. Do I write “babe cheats on her boyfriend” or “sexy babe in leather”? In short, do I emphasize what the video is about, even though the image does not represent that? Is this better for SEO, or worse?
Mr Adult AffiliateKeymasterWell for the images you should write what it just shows, at least it is my rule that I follow myself.
