I saw a couple of hot adult tumblr blogs yesterday and I’m just wondering if anyone is using Tumblr and if the traffic’s any good.
msmGuestI kept seeing Tumblr sites turn up in porn search results so I created an account last year but never did anything with it. It’s still on my list of things to do.
dean448GuestIf I recall it’s hit or miss with a lot of people and they don’t like advertising which kind of defeats the purpose of working on it unless your doing it just for the fun of it. Maybe this has changed since I set one up a year or so ago and it was deleted. It appears as if they have no problem with porn but they don’t like advertising or at least they used to not like it.. So you will have to skilfully find a way to advertise without it looking like advertising.. Good Luck.. Let us know how it goes.

I had the same experience. Three Tumblr blogs were deleted because I used them for commercial advertising.
If you just use the Tumblr to push traffic to your own blogs, you seem to be safe.fnoperiGuestI like tumblr been using it for a few months or so just one adult blog but it gets tons of people following and sharing everyday, and the advertising thing is no problem, since i mostly make money from tubes i just follow the same pattern and make money off of watermarks, plus links but more worried about getting watermarks out there, since serious buyers seem to typein and convert rather than click thru. i got killer keywords too, but havent seen anything in google for it yet at least not in 1st page or two where it matters.
Gaib69GuestI have been using Tumblr and it really is a great traffic device for me, I also get a few sales here and there because of it.
The key I found is you have to get into the community there first.
I started on Tumblr before I got my own blog, by the time I started using tumblr for traffic I already had regular followers and traffic to the tumblr site and then it grew.
I mostly like it because I can see at a clear glance which sites or pics are grabbing attention, as opposed to those that don’t get even a look.
I know you can probably use Analytics for that, but using tumblr is a lot easier for me to understand.ownerdGuestI have never tracked a direct sale from one of my tumblr posts but I do think it’s something to be said for brand visibility there.
ConnannGuestI agree, it’s not really about direct sales but branding and a bit like twitter building up followers to gain traffic (you’re more likely to get traffic from a tumblr page than twitter).
kman57GuestYeah, it’s not so much about getting sales for me as finding an alternate source for traffic.
Since you can’t put affiliate links directly on your Tumblr posts, it’s kind of hard to track sales. However, my Tumblr is my 7th highest referrer to my blog after direct traffic, three search engines, and two link lists, so it’s definitely worth doing.
JoeRrGuestYeah Tumblr doesn’t allow affiliate links, if they catch you, they’ll likely just kill your account. I just post pictures and link the picture to one of my blogs. And with Yahoo! taking over Tumblr, it’s probably better to play by the rules since they may likely be looking for ways to get rid of porn without actually getting rid of porn, if you know what I mean.
