Recently I have noticed that the posts that have fewer pics (but selected more carefully) usually make more sales. There are some affiliates that use only one picture per blog post on adult sites and it seems they are doing pretty well.
So, in your opinion, what is the optimal number of pics for a blog post? I used to have blog posts with not less than 14 pics and I think that may be too many.
FoongGuestI do extremely well with only ONE photo per post…
jamessdedeGuesti’d say 3 to 6 depending on layout – 8 if the pics you’re working with are too small so you have to do 2 smaller ones per row.
MaxxGuestI usually vary.. when I get a good sponsor and there’s so many good photos to pick from per set I become indecisivie and end up using probably too many – usually though I would aim for 6-8 and wherever possible throw in a video.
One thing I do notice about Foong’s though is the large amount of text – I usually aim for 150 words or so.. but if these sell so well with only one photo then maybe the text is as important or more important than the photos themselves (I am sure I have seen jamessdede comment on this before..).
DOCGuestThis is curious, I had always heard the more the better. I could swear Patti said something to that effect a while back. Lets the surfer really understand what’s being offered.
Just looking at my blog I’m usually in the 8-12 pic range (in a collage-like arrangement that’s 640px wide). Sometimes fewer if the sponsor didn’t give enough good pics, but sometimes more – counted 21 on a recent post (and yes, it sold memberships).
My view of it is that they’re buying a video, not pics, so giving away pics isn’t really stealing from making them want to buy the video. The better I can tell the story of the video in pictures the more they’ll want to see it in full motion.
One other thing – I’ve noticed if the sponsor has a crappy tour, the more I show the better…
Dake40GuestThanks guys for the messages.
MaxxGuestI agree that generally surfers are after the video and not the photo sets – of course there are exceptions to this so giving everything away may not be the best idea – I usually go to a maximum of 12, but its more often around 6-8 – depending upon the quality.
timGuestDumb question here, is this thread referring to how pics per post (that promotes one sponsor) OR post meaning all posts to a blog at one time (in one day)?
mavricksGuestThe ones that do better have many pictures but also bring a very personal touch to their Blog. Plain reviews don’t do as well as the ones who are referring to specific details such as a part of the scene, the models and in which other scenes they are, what the models are doing and how. The more emotion but into it the better the blog is doing… Taking about the technical aspect (video format, size and speed of videos….) doesn’t give the readers a hard-on. From what I can see, they want emotions.
DOCGuest“Post” means an entry. Posts have their own unique URLs, though several posts will be shown on the home and archive/category/tag pages. Typically each post is about one scene at a particular sponsor pay site.
