My server is down since about 8:37 pm CET, and their support ticket system (mynatnet.com) seems to be down too, which is unusual. What’s the situation with your adult sites if you host with them?
rajeshGuestcertifiedhosting is on the same route, and they’re also down – it’s been about 50 minutes. they say it’s a network issue.
marvGuestI hope they will take care of it soon. It would be nice if someone from their support came here and gave us an update on the situation because we can’t use their ticket system.
rajeshGuesti just called, and was given a completely different explanation than my partner was. also when my partner called, they said they’d be back up in 15, and that was over 40 minutes ago.
the guy i talked to said that natnet and certified are in the same building (i hadn’t known that), and that power is off in the building. somehow they’re calling in engineers to fix the issue, which really doesn’t make me feel very confident. they had no ETA. what if they need a part that isn’t available?
of this is true, why don’t they have gas generators for issues like this?
have you tried calling natnet to see what they say?
fedricGuestBy the way… always check out nationalnetupdates.com if you wonder if NatNet is down. It’s where they post problem updates. It’s in someone else’s data center so not affected by outages at NatNet.
dylan09GuestI can’t help but feel that I “missed the boat” on this one. What is the battery backup system for again?
marvGuestWe’re still down.
Natnet hasn’t given us an ETA yet so all we can do is wait. It is disappointing they didn’t get a good back-up in place after the last time this happened.
I know they are working hard to resolve the issue though and things sometimes happen beyond anyone’s control, so giving them the benefit of the doubt for now and can only hope this gets fixed soon and it doesn’t happen again.
marvGuest@dylan09,
This was posted by Tony on another board:
Hey Everybody….
Sorry for the issues today. Just a quick update on what is going on….we did experience a full power loss to the Data Center today. The person who basically said “this is not suppose to happen” is actually very much correct. People pay us to make sure that we have redundancies but, as much as I hate to admit it, all of our redundancies failed us today. It can happen but that still does not make it acceptable. It is not acceptable to me, either, I can promise.
Our entire Emergency Response Team is onsite and working on the issue now. The power has been restored but now the team is working to bring the internet back up. IT is still a process but we are diligently working on it.
We will be posting updates at NationalNet Updates
Thanks for your patience and know that we are very sorry for this issue.
rajeshGuesti’m not planning to move – my partner and i have been with certified for years – but it would be nice to understand why they and natnet didn’t invest in some generators or other kinds of backup just for this scenario.
marvGuestYes it would be very difficult for us to move as well. I’ve been with them about 10 years and for the most part they have been great, and I’ve dealt with quite a few other server companies over the years. Their support has always been some of the best in the business. However, for some reason it seems they are never prepared when these types of scenarios happen. Like you said rajesh I really hope they address it this time and make a bigger investment in their infrastructure so we don’t have this conversation again in the future.
