I’m curious, what % of traffic everyone is getting in regards to mobile/desktop/tablet.

Over the last three months mine was split like this:

    Mobile: 49.96%
    Desktop: 37.96%
    Tablet: 12.07%

    French-Twinks.com

    Desktop : 64.51%
    Mobile : 26.07%
    Tablet : 9.42%

What’s interesting to analyze also is the conversion rate by device…

Interestingly our sites with a lot of Asian traffic get a way higher mobile percentage:

    Japanboyz:
    Mobile – 59.8%
    Desktop – 33.17%
    Tablet – 7.06%

Compare that to SDBoy.com which is mostly US traffic:
    Desktop: 55.6%
    Mobile: 36.6%
    Tablet: 7.98%

I do think Mobile is definitely growing in the US market but it’s not nearly as high as in Asia where people are really glued to their phones (and probably a lot more people don’t even own computers).

That’s actually interesting indeed, and not that hard to do with NATS I think. You just need to add an auto-campaign tag on top of the affiliate’s campaign tags, e.g. “MOBILE” if you detect it comes from a mobile device.

Then not only you will have the conversion rates per device, but you will also have them specifically for each affiliate. And you can also use them for redirects of course.

I am drafting an idea of redirecting the member to specific landing pages based on these device tags, although our membership site is responsive, it would be nice to have specific landing pages for mobiles & tablets based on affiliate traffic (e.g. custom mobile tour featuring bareback & fetish for mobile traffic coming from RawTop, general mobile tour featuring a bit of everything for mobile traffic from Gaydemon and so on).

It’s actually not very hard to do, I’d guess you only need 4-5 tours in total, each multiplied by 2 (mobile / tablet).

Oh yes we have all conversion stats by device / affiliates / countries in our system…

At French Twinks, 16.35% of al sign up are done from mobile devices. The conversion rate is still lower than on desktop and we are working to improve it.

To redirect mobile users to a custom landing page sounds a bit risky in a SEO point of view… But of course mobile optimization to fit better “mobile usability” required something more than a simple “responsive design” as we all do.

I thought comparing a few different years might be interesting:

    GayDemon 2015
    Desktop : 43.3%
    Mobile : 44.7%
    Tablet : 12%

    GayDemon 2014
    Desktop : 50.4%
    Mobile : 37.5%
    Tablet : 12.1%

    GayDemon 2013
    Desktop : 66.8%
    Mobile : 22.9%
    Tablet : 10.3%

    GayDemon 2012
    Desktop : 91.2%
    Mobile : 2.5%
    Tablet : 6.4%

It’s gone from nearly all Desktop users in 2012 to equal amount of Mobile and Desktop. However overall now in 2015 I have more mobile and tablet users than I have desktop users.

    Main blog:

    Mobile: 32%
    Tablet: 11%
    Desktop: 57%

It would be interesting to see how this correlates to % of visitors coming from primarily mobile sources like Twitter. I would run the numbers but I have a headache just thinking about it.
