I am about to get into the blogging side of things and i was just wondering – i have noticed that most of the adult blogs i find center around either a theme/niche or nothing in general, i dont see many that only promote one affiliate sponsor so can blogs that do this be successfull or would i be better off mixing it up but keeping it to a theme/niche ?

I’ve seen a few that center around just a single sponsor.

However, most of the time when I’ve seen these type of blogs they’ve been automated and have chosen only one sponsor because of the restrictions in using RSS feeds.

I think personally you’re better of choosing a good narrow theme and a few sponsors on that subject. You’re going to have an easier time to find regular content but more importantly easier to get traffic if you got a good theme.

I mean how you would market a blog about just a single site? What’s the point of that blog? Isn’t that just bringing readers exactly what they can find already at the sponsor?

well the point of the blog would be to advertise the site ofcourse so yea they will be shown previews of what they can expect on the paysite but just becourse its limited to one paysite doesnt make it different in that way compared to other blogs ?

I would think you are needlessly limiting potential sales. If surfers do not like that particular paysite, they will have to go elsewhere (ie. if the tour is not appealing or whatever else).

I can not see a lot of benefit to limiting it to just one site. If you are going to put the effort into a decent blog, a bit of variation is good in my honest opinion.

I’ve seen a very few adult blogs like this and considered a one sponsor blog myself but am not sure or ready for it yet. Mostly I have the same concerns as others, so why bother. If a one sponsor blog makes such good sales, then I’d think the sponsors would be making or hiring people to make some for themselves, and I’m not aware that they do (or do they?).

On the other hand, the super focus of a blog dedicated to one sponsor could be really interesting. The sponsor’s site could be one experience, but the blog could expand, you could read more for those who like that. Plus the affiliate has access to more material than what is usually provided at a sponsor’s site or tour. It’s just a different format that some people may enjoy. Some sponsor’s own sites are full of good clips, pics and info and others are not at all. A one sponsor blog is sort of like a fan club. But most fans know of the star and then seek out the fan clubs, I thought. So I’m not sure how such a blog would find new “fans,” which is the whole purpose in the first place.

I agree with what Mr. Adult Affiliate said: “I would think you’re needlessly limiting potential sales. ” You would be much wiser to go niche-specific, offering your surfers a variety of sites that they can join, mainly because different sites appeal to different people….and you may be surprised at the number of sites one of your surfers will join over time too – limiting them to just one option will cut down on your income.

Yes, i also think it’s better to take several paysites in one niche from several sponsors.

another catch with single-sponsor blogs is that you can’t update with the site’s newest content every day since very few sites update every day…

Maybe a compromise could be a few sites from the same sponsor that are very similar, or overlap seamlessly.

hmm, must say this is very interesting input… some touched on something that makes me think, does the blog need to update every day wouldnt 4 times a week work ?
