You may create a group on there or watermarks to your website and use only safe for work pictures so no nudity at all and do not share any adult websites and you may generate some traffic but they may ban you at any time.

So yes, it is possible, but really not recommended. If you want to get traffic from the social media sites then Twitter is really good for that and Tumblr is not bad as well.
