Hallo!
Has any adult membership site owner around here ever worked with a service like Corporate Ranking (corporateranking.com) (or other) before to improve their search engine results?
Corporate Ranking promise quite a lot (they offer various plans on their website) and of course they charge significant fees for their services.
Here are some of the targets (or should I rather say “promises”) which a senior sales manager of CR did sent to me via email:
Once we will start the campaign for your website, my Technical team will suggest you a list of keywords after analyzing your target market and your competitors websites. You can also send your preferred keywords to us. Our main objective is to rank your website on first page of Google for the most potential keywords.
Once the keywords will be finalized, we will work on back links, content, Social media promotion and many more…
We will manually do social bookmarking, directory submission, article submission, image sharing, press release to provide you quality back links.
We will write quality content and post in relevant blogs and article sites. Before posting each content, we will send it for your approval.
We will update your social media accounts with images, forums and videos which will help to increase your brand value. We will increase your Facebook likes, do comment posting, engage your social media profiles with customers and many more…Anybody here in the forum knows if suchlike investments in SEO are likely to ever return? I mean if you invest $2000 per month over a period of 6 months (CR’s most expensive plan) I am sure you will see some results – but how far could one go for $300 per month (which is their cheapest plan)?
Thank you for sharing your experiences!
DOCGuestI have experience of a similar, lower-cost service. It wasn’t fantastic and the impact it had wasn’t really measurable.
To be honest, the business is so full of sharks, you can never tell if they’re just going to take your money and run, or do so little that you’re basically paying them for nothing.
They also know that measuring their success is incredibly difficult. You could be paying them for three months before you start to see any change, and by that time it could be too late to roll back any damage they might be doing.
If they fuck it all up you’ll then have to spend another 6 months to a year cleaning it up and hoping you can regain the standing you had before they got you blacklisted. It’s just my opinion, but the marketing nonsense you’ve posted there reads as though it were written by a teenager with English as a second language. What do they mean by “we will update your social media accounts with images, forums and videos…”?
I wouldn’t trust any company making SEO promises like this, but I would trust one even less when they don’t seem to know what a forum is.
craigGuestI hired a SEO company a couple of years, just out of interest really. Lots of recommendations given, things to change, do this, do that.. And it had absolutly no impact on search results. I don’t think these companies offers anything worth doing. A lot of it is common sense the rest is things that are very minor and have no impact.
However this company offers a great deal more than just SEO, they are talking about submitting your site and articles to different places to improve rankings. But where exactly are they going to submit your site or content?
Links to adult sites are blocked/banned on the majority of social media sites..
There are very few directories left where you could submit a porn site too.To be honest, none of the points they have given you applies to a porn site. They simply wont be able to do it with adult content. Have they even looked at your site?
Mr Adult AffiliateKeymasterI think you are better off investing in Long Tail Pro or SemRush and find competitive long tail keywords with high search volumes and writing good content to target those keywords. Putting money into an SEO service like the one you described is not going to do anything.
Just looking at your traffic, I can see that 40% of your US traffic and 77% of your UK traffic comes from branded search terms. Other search terms bringing in in traffic are “naked men” and “British gay porn”, not exactly keywords with high buyer intent. You are not bringing in traffic for any specific model name keywords or other niche keywords. You do not have any significant text on the main page. I would start filling out more text, adding more text to the model bios and optimizing the scene descriptions. The best place to start is on-page SEO.
As for getting links, I agree with Craig – this company will not get you any additional links. I would start by looking through your affiliate list and make requests for a non-affiliate link back to a page within your tour (not the home page).
But in any case, you have to be prepared to measure progress in months and years on this.
Companies offering to do this are just taking advantage of business owner’s lack of knowledge on SEO and just using promising sounding jargon. NEVER a believe a company when they “guarantee” they can get you on page one of google in x months.
DOCGuestWhen we tried out an SEO service it was for the shop, so we knew it would be easier for them to generate links than it would be for adult entertainment.
But, we were still curious to see where they would put those links. We soon discovered that it was just a blogging circle jerk, low quality content churned out and pasted up on random blogs that covered everything from TV shows to fish keeping.
Obviously, these were pretty much pointless. They weren’t even good or interesting blogs, they were just bland pages of text rambling on about generic nonsense with our links shoved in there.
It didn’t hurt us as far as I could tell, but it definitely wasn’t worth the money and we could have created a better blog network on our own for that same purpose.
If you need links, buy three or four domains, slap up some blogs and update them once a week with something new. Then add a good long article in there with a link back to whatever you’re working on. That’s probably the best way to do it, it’s cheaper, and you have control over it.
JamieGuestGentlemen,
all of you did confirm the reservations I already had. I also think one needs to be very cautious regarding suchlike promises that are very hard to measure.
