I have a small adult pay site and on the site I also have a blogs section and mostly guys just write complaining about their dates, politics, asking a question, etc.
But someone just posted that they hate the videos on my site.
My site is small so a blog can stay up for weeks with everyone looking at it.I want to delete it, after all I dont want people NOT to buy a membership because someone says the videos suck. And also the blog is not meant to be a bitch-fest about the site.
On the other hand, to delete it I’m censoring it. He IS a paying member (thats why he can see the videos).
So not sure that to do.
sam29Guestyour site, do what you wanna do. i see both sides, and if it was my site, i want to make sales so fuck them. its one person’s opinion.
people are 10 times more likely to leave feedback on something they hate, rather than something they like unfortunately. so i would jack it. what this person going to do? write back on there? haha.
Mr Adult AffiliateKeymasterMyself, I would engage him to find out what it is that has him hating the videos, and who knows, maybe it is a legit complaint, that you can address, fix, and show through the threaded comments. You can turn a negative into a positive, if you want, but it does come down to, it is your site, to do as you please, as it relates to complaints.
If the complaint is not legit, well it gives you an opportunity to show that too, which shows the complaint as being unfounded, but also shows that you care enough to investigate and respond, which is a huge positive.
but hey, just my opinion.
coolenGuestI would suggest to be diplomatic and reply to the comment by offering a refund if he’s not satisfied. But on the other hand, its your blog, and if you can’t censor your own blog, just what is this world coming to?
If I could do as I wanted, I’d put up a response such as “Yeah, they don’t show up to good on an Ericsson T-10” but I wouldn’t recommend that tack.
You’ll always get the haters. When I come across such comments I just remove them before they start off a mini-war on the site.
dannylzjGuestMeh, I just deleted it. I realized why do I want a blog up that encourages people to leave my site?
joyceyGuestGood move. Like sam29 said, people are more likely to leave a negative comment than a good one.
Just browse any popular blog or gallery site that gets a lot of comments 90% negative and often downright nasty. Whenever we see negative comments from anonymous trolls, we also see an increase in sales at the same time.
Whatever turns someone off, is likely turning somebody else on. Everyone has different tastes. Thank god for that right?

This is so true, and often why I think negative comments can be good. I take for example the one adult site. We see all kinds of comments when we post their videos on our blogs or on the tube sites…people saying ‘when is that creep going to shut up?!’ or using even more derogatory words. At the same time, people come in to defend them, a whole discussion builds, more and more people watch the video to find out what is going on and end up joining the site….
I would have actually left the comment there, but responded to it and tried to build a dialogue…even if you had to create a few fake usernames to do it.
As Oscar Wilde once said, ‘”The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.”
johnwickGuestYeah, if the person commenting that a link was broken or a photo set was missing, you could post back and say, “thanks for letting me know, I fixed it.” But if someone hates your videos, how can you respond to that?
If you try, you may just engage him in a war, or he may not even reply back and just leave you hanging.
Hard to know what to do, but I think you probably did the right thing.
I don’t approve every comment on my blog posts, some are just too idiotic.
skywalkerGuestI can see both sides as well. We try to take the stance that if some posts constructive criticism we’re happy to leave it up, but if it’s just flat out negative without any indication of what about it they didn’t like or what they would like to see then there is no point to keeping it up.
