Ugh! Why is it just so damn difficult? I mean, I know Alexa doesn’t mean much when you get up there in the numbers. But, I have been pushing one of my adult Asian sites really hard and have seen the traffic go way up. But…. It is just moving so slowly to the 100k point. It’s almost there. Almost. Just almost.
Okay. Rant done.
So, why is it so damn hard?
I’m not sure how this would work vis-a-vis that site, especially where I assume work is done on it on separate computers, but I installed the Alexa toolbar several months ago on my pc, and since then the rank on my adult blog has gone from around 900k to around 180k. Obviously not as low as you’re seeking, but I would try installing it if you haven’t done that already. Interestingly, though, just as you’re struggling to get below 100k, I can’t seem to get much below 180k. I reached that rank probably a month ago, and it just keeps going up and down by small amounts. And yes from all I’ve read here and elsewhere it doesn’t really seem to matter that much in the long run.

It is hard. I had to restore my page from a backup and forgot to reinstall the Alexa code for only three days,but those three days dropped my rank by 100K. I want to get to at least to the top 500K for my target region for now, but it’s an uphill battle.
