When I first launched my adult paysite we scheduled a solo film release for Thursdays and a duo / hardcore release for Sundays. The reason was I still had a day job and sometimes the Sunday release was only filmed on the Saturday, meaning I had plenty of all-nighters to meet the promise!
Now we film well in advance, so my question is “should we move our update days to capitalise on weekend traffic?” IE – Tuesdays and Fridays or similar?
Mr Adult AffiliateKeymasterAsk your members, because they are already used to your update dates, so maybe a change might not go over well with them, assuming there are a fair number, which I would wager there are.
narmistarGuestThey wouldn’t really know about surfer conversions over weekends… they’d be happy just as long as I serve up the goodies.
AnddrewGuesti suspect that this is probably a case of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. you have thousands of surfers who know the days you update, and while it’s true that if you change the days, the content will still be new to them, people really seem to like seeing things that are brand new.
Mr Adult AffiliateKeymaster@narmistar,
True, but they know when you do update now, and some who are re billers, plan their days accordingly. May sound daft, but people are creatures of habit, and if you change their comfort zone, they get cranky. That can lead to a fit of anger which can pass, or can end in a ‘no, I ain’t signing up for another month’.
dravosGuestNot sure, about how it works for membership sites. But my most important day for updates is Fridays, I always make sure to add some new reviews, sites etc on a Friday to make sure there is something for the weekend surfers on my review site.
Sales are always up over weekends by probably 20% or so if not more. Its definitly when people got time for porn. But thats very different for my type of site and yours.
you would also have to make it VERY clear to any surfers who see your site for the first time that you just updated.
I would always be more willing join a site which says it just updated and where its clear that it just has. But not sure if I would care just how recent (i.e. 2 or 3 days ago) that is or what day it was.
