I agree with pocoloco. I think frequent updates are more important.

I got about 1000 daily unique visitors after I start blogging for four months. I update everyday, and create avg 5~6 posts a day. I use both my own reviews (20%) and sponsor text (80%) coz I don’t have much time. I can only do blogging 2~3 hours when I get home coz I have a full time job at day time.

Due to some personal reasons I’ve stopped blogging since this October. No any new posts for 3 months. When I come back, the daily hits already fell down to the ground. LOL. That’s ok coz I dont live by blogging. I do it for fun. And I am pretty happy coz I still got several hundred bucks every month from signup/recurring even if I post nothing in these three months . ^_^

In order to get my traffic back I’ve tried sth.
    1) daily update but not as often as before. Use my own words instead of sponsor text. (As many senior bloggers highly recommend this, I’am gonna give a try)
    2) sumbit new posts to blog sharing site.
    3) In order to please google’s PR system, now I use jump script to cloak all the sponor links although I hate that.
    4) re-sumbit my blog to google wemaster page.
    5) use SEO plugins to get new post listed in google search. Normally my new posts will be listed from page 1 to 4 in search result pages in about 2 days.

It’s only 12 days since I start blogging again. I get daily hits back to 600-700. It’s not bad. right?

btw, Tumblr could be another nice way to gain traffic. I am gonna try that one later.

I would like to add that having non-sponsor content is also a great boost for any blog. Too many bloggers dedicate all their time to making promotional posts for their content, when they should be mixing in non-sponsor posts too.

Think about it, Google can see how many links out of a post there are, and where they go to. If every single post on your blog is linking out to the same list of sites, and you never add a post without ANY links out, they will class you as a seller and nothing more. Why would they send you traffic and offer you as superior and knowledgeable resource to any searcher knowing that 100% of your posts are intended to send someone to another site?

People can add nofollow to all their links, it doesn’t change the fact that Google can see that you’re nothing more than a seller, and that blog is not going to be an authority on anything other than selling porn sites.

Take a look at the most successful blogs out there, and you’ll see that they add a lot more than just linked out posts to sponsor sites. The really successful blogs have some things in common…

    1. Original text
    2. Regular updates
    3. Non-sponsor posts almost every day
    4. Lengthy content (sponsor or not)
    5. Personality
    6. Community

The community aspect comes as a result of the rest.

This is just my opinion, but I have seen the evidence of it myself. On blogs where there is more than just sponsor posts the Google traffic is much improved, and the community starts to build around that. Repeated visitors means they trust or enjoy the site, and Google can see that too, which gives them more reason to send more people your way.

Updates are key. I see adult blogs that are only updated every about once every two weeks. Me personally, I don’t feel that’s good enough. I think (in my opinion) update twice a week.

One thing others have said on here, I’m bad for following it myself but don’t copy and paste the text from sponsor emails. There’s a million and one others using those same exact descriptions. Read the text, look at the pics, watch the video, etc. Come up with your own description and be extremely descriptive.

I think and I’m starting to see it… Between the updates and descriptions will help you with the SEO stuff.

Trade links with as many quality sites in your niche.
Some sites will only let you trade links with them if you have a quality site. IMO, I move on from them. I personally trade links with anyone and everyone that is willing. The more sites that link to you, the better your blog’s popularity with search engines.

If you have other sites, link to your blog.

If you associate with the public via email, add your blog URL to your signature.

Be unique. Don’t copy what others are doing.

A MUST: Get your site in with Google. Do the XML, if you need a XML program to make you a sitemap, this is what I use: xml-sitemaps.com it will put a stupid URL thing at the bottom of your sitemap if you open it. You can easily delete it.
Verify your site with Google with the html file.
    Do it with Bing.
If you don’t do this, your screwing yourself out of a faster listing with Google.

A lot of people on here talk about not using keywords and descriptions in your meta-tags. I suggest do it. What if one day Google decides to close shop, your screwed with the hundreds of other search engines. There’s a million SEO plugins for wordpress. Use them to your advantage. Try not to repeat keywords also.

Twitter is wonderful. Put the twitter tool on your blog. Or link to it somewhere. Tell them to follow you. Then on Twitter when you tweet, reference your post to your blog.
Same thing with Facebook, myspace, etc.

When your tweeting on twitter and doing the facebook and myspace stuff…. Consumers can smell spam or a commercial a mile away. If your facebook or twitter posts seem too commercialized, they’ll look but that’s it.
A suggestion is (this is off the top of my head, so don’t bash too hard)….
When your tweeting and posting on the social networks, say something like: “Today, I was going through some pics and seen John Doe, he’s so hot, he’s got it all with the looks, the package, the whole 9 yards. I’d like to share him with you.”
Be a person not a bot. It’ll help you get more traffic. But, keep it G-Rated because they will shut you off.

Also don’t forget to give your blog it’s own identity so it stands out for the 1000s of other faceless blogs…give it a face! Hell, give it a whole body! Really make it so that the surfer wants to bookmark it and more than that…they want to check it frequently because they find it appealing and interesting.

Old time SEO is dead, buying and trading links etc, it is all about building a site surfers want, I have been #1 for my main niche with a hosted smutnode tube with a EMD which are supposed to be penalized it has no backlinks its a brand new domain with no age, and i have held this spot beating xvideos pornhub etc for 4 5 plus months

The site provides what it promises it is simple to navigate no spyware or malware or dirty tricks, the people love it and therefore google loves it and it does 6k uniques a day. It does have 550K plus shares from one of those addthis, people have been emailing and linking to friends etc, it has reddit and digg and even facebook likes and twitter. google notices this, this is really all you have to do today.

Stop trying to game the system fuck keyword density, buying or trading backlinks, just build a non-spammy site you would want to visit and bookmark and google will reward you. And also don’t over do the ads. It’s really that simple.

It is not an easy task to get traffic these days. If you aim to generate organic traffic then you need to create unique content and update your site with the new posts.

There is a lot of good information on this site mradultaffiliate.com so read the posts if you have not done that.

There are so many fantastic, top notch tips in this topic so it would be a sin to not read this whole thread. Well, I do not have much to add. Just one thing, patience. You will need a lot of patience before you become successful.

Bottom line it… Never write for the search engine, write for your readers and constantly feed the search engine. Write for them and it will grow into place naturally. Throw in some social media juice too, I know my social juice has helped push me to page one in the search engine. My Pinterest traffic is insane! LOL. Google factors social reach.

Make everything you do about your people and it will happen. I have some posts on page one ranking with the big dogs, sometimes Im beating the big dogs. Some of these posts are in the Yoast red… my posts were for my people.
