Im trying to understand yet another thing in this adult business as a new affiliate.
When Im creating link codes, it sometimes ask what sort of thing I want Revshare, etc
What are all these different things and which is the best.
The reason Im asking is not only do I want a better understanding, but I thought revshare meant that as a customer is rebelled, I get paid again for the rebill, not as much or sometimes the same etc.
In this case I have not seen a rebill payment and I have sold for me a lot of their stuff. So before I go questioning them I want to make sure I understand the terms.
Thanks.RyanHGuestYou are correct in your understanding. RevShare is less $$$ than PPS (per signup) but if the customer rebills, you keep getting money for every month he continues as a member.
If your original links are set to PPS, you need to change them to RevShare in order to update the settings in your account with a sponsor. Personally, I start out with RevShare on all of my sponsor links with every sponsor. I watch the sales and if I see a particular site that isn’t rebilling well, then I change the links to PPS.
I’m sure one of the sponsors will jump in and explain it better than I can for you.
Mr Adult AffiliateKeymasterRevshare means you get a per cent of the billing price. Most are 50/50 split, so if a site sells for $30 you get $15. Some will split the processing fees or absorb them, but generally it mean that each sale you get that split, and for each time they renew, you get the split of whatever the rebilling fee is. Some like Bel Ami charge less to the customer after the first month, so your split is less.
PPS is pay per signup, it is a one time fee, paid to you for making the sale. It varies but generally is around $35 per sale, but if they renew, you get ZERO.
Hope that helps.
niajahiGuestI guess it depends on the program or rather who’s program.
DOCGuestWith rebilling on the decline, it’s almost always better to go with PPS if you can. Think about it this way: if a customer buys a membership and your revshare amount in $15, the customer has to buy a membership and rebill at least once in order for you to make the same as you would have if you took a $30 PPS.
If the customer doesn’t rebill, you lost $15. If they rebill twice and you’re doing PPS, you lost $15. But consider that mayb 30-40% of memberships might rebill, you’re probably still further ahead with PPS.
RichardGuestUnless this happens…
Dear Affiliate,
A member you referred has been rebilled. The member’s information and the amount of your payout follow:
program: Pay Per Trial
join option: $3.95 – 3 Day Trial Membership
campaign: Default
country:
rebills: 14I lost out on $170.
NewbiexGuestOk I think Im beginning to understand.
The affiliate Im asking about is “STR8HELL”.
It sells really well for me, well what I consider really well, to most my numbers are probably really small.
They only offer a 50% Recurring.
I was looking through the last 60 days and have only seen 1 rebill out of the 30 actual joins that Im getting paid for. Does that make sense as in what I said.
Also do those numbers sound right.
Sorry if Im not making sense on that, I have had to up my pain medicine do to weather changes (I have MS and heat is an enemy) and right now even as I re-read what Im asking Im not sure it made sense.DOCGuest1 rebill out of 30 joins sounds pretty low, but not much you can do about it if that what it is … that’s why I said that whenever possible it’s better to do PPS. With this site there’s not much you can do about it, just take the sales and be happy … 30 joins in 60 days is pretty good for a guy just starting out.
NewbiexGuestOK kewl, thanks DOC.
You just made my day, I thought I was still on the slow boat to China with my sales. I have done what you instructed. Buried my head into my chosen niche and been bulldozing ahead.matehtGuestIf you ever feel like changing the links out, I learned a method to change all links on a blog from one to another at a paste and click. It’s actually a pretty cool way to try out different tours or landing pages from one month to the next.
I’m sure most of the other guys here know all about that stuff, but I was pretty pleased with myself for working it out.
