I’ve got quite a lot of adult affiliate links that seems to redirect from http to https.

Is it safe in general to update the link i use to have https?

It’s better because it avoids a useless 302 (or 301 can’t remember) redirect. On the other side if the site linked for some reasons drops HTTPS and you are linking it “natively” with HTTPS you can end up with an error page instead of paysite.

This is a good point, but in this day and age with google pressing sites to have https I see it as unlikely any site worth their salt removing https… But as DOC says the less redirects the better, as I always myself see redirects as a “potential for error” and the more there is the higher the potential for something to change something and for things not to work.

That being said… I know its a complete pain in the ass, but I would speak to each paysite/network directly, as some may be testing HTTPS versions of their sites without the intention of keeping it should they find too many errors, as happened with me and one of my links recently for another paysite.
