    I have been talking quite a bit this weekend about adult marketing on social media. In the tumblr discussion on another adult forum, someone mentioned that it’s largely used by young people who don’t buy memberships.

    So that’s the quandary, isn’t it? Google is pretty much forcing us to go deeper into social media to keep our rankings and get traffic, or so it seems. But is that traffic any good? Google thinks it is, or again seems to, but if it isn’t producing sales is it good for us?

    And with social media, are porn sites going to have to brand themselves with a 20-year-old guy until he’s thirty and can afford a membership?

    Even tube sites, do they really want thousands upon thousands of viewers who never buy memberships?

    And I notice that paysites, which used to be packed with sexy fit women are filming more and more younger girls to attract the growing younger demographic. But if the Y and Z generations aren’t buying DVDs or site memberships, what’s the point? And old guys like me aren’t necessarily interested in seeing 24-year-old women getting fucked, whether they’re hairy or not.

    We’re certainly living in interesting times.

    There is a certain sense in promoting to a large social newtork audience wvwn if you want to reach a different demograhic. All the young, non-buying tumblr’s are prolfic in getting your message around and increasing visibility to a more general audience, where your target audience may find you.

    Got it, so they’re like unpaid affiliates. Interesting.

    There are so many ways of looking at these trends. I hope to learn more like this through some other comments.
