last night i was checking stats, and it took so long for a ccbill report to load that i wandered off to another site (it took well over a minute before anything happened), forgot what i was doing, and when i came back to the ccbill page, it had logged me off *LOL*

i remembered that because i was checking something tonight, and it took almost as long to load – but this time i didn’t wander off.

We get that every now and then, their system seems ancient and could use a lot of improvement. Sometimes pages don’t load at all, I have to refresh several times for them to retrieve the information.

I’ve noticed very slow speeds surfing the past 2 days. A couple weeks ago, Fishy and I stumbled across something. He was connecting through San Jose, so was my ISP by default. He switched to Seattle using his VPN, I connected using my VPN and selected Dallas. Speeds were what we expected. The problem seems to be San Jose many of the times that I see slow speeds.

If you have access to, or using a VPN, try connecting to Seattle or Dallas. It might resolve the slow speed issues. It’s not “all the time” but I will use my VPN when I do experience slow speeds through San Jose.

The speeds were still very slow this morning, so I connected using my VPN, tested the same sites that I noticed the slow speeds on just previously through San Jose. POOF! Load times and surfing back to what I would expect.

Moral of the story, your ISP might be coming in through San Jose.

This would make perfect sense, as I recall using a VPN coming out of Seattle and speeds to servers in the Cali and Arizona areas were much faster for me here in Western Canada. I believe that although CCBill US is based out of Tempe Arizona a rep once informed me they have a server, or more, in California. Perhaps that could be the culprit.

CCBill is always slow for me. I log in and go fill up my coffee and come back to find it loaded up. Sometimes I can’t get stats at all. It’s hit and miss. Old system, most definitely. I wish they’d finally get into the 21st century.
