I’ve recieved a DMCA notice from Google of removal of two pages on gaydemon.com. The pages contained promo content for paragon men and used in good faith. I’ve removed the pages from gaydemon.com.

But what do I do next? Do I need to do anything else other than removing the content? Whats the procedure of dealing with these DMCA requests to minimize impact on search results.

I am curious what paragon model or content triggered DMCA notice. Maybe they did not differentiate between affiliates and pirates properly?

I have some videos on Vimeo and every now and then I’ll get a takedown request. The first thing I do is request a copy of the request so I can verify that it came from the actual copyright holder or someone who represents them and not just some nutjob who sends these out to cause trouble. Vimeo is very good at proving this info, not sure about Google. If it looks like the request is not legit you can do a counter-notice, although to be honest unless the content is really important you might as well just take it down and move on with your life. Less of a hassle.

    What naked said…
Google normally sends the notices to Lumen:
    lumendatabase.org
You may want to check the validity there.

I’d suggest 1) temporarily taking it down. 2) contact the law firm and explain that, as an affiliate, you have rights to have the content up and ask them to retract the notice with Google, and then 3) if they change their mind, put it back up.

When I’ve contacted these law firms they usually ask me for some type of proof that I had the OK to use the content from the copyright holder, so if you can get an email from Paragon Men you should be OK. And if Paragon does not provide this I’d stop promoting them. And let us know… I don’t currently promote them and probably would not if they are not working with you on this.
