    Hi all

I’m after a little advice on spam traffic to my adult websites and what to do about it.

I seem to be suddenly getting 2 types of spam traffic:

1- A domain such as dating27.com that comes in bursts of 20 visitors in one visit and always just visit my home page

2- SEO related domains that come sporadically through the day and are recorded as visiting a non existent page eg /h/4303304.html

I am used to seeing the first type, and I try and filter them out in analytics, but the second type is new is it just a variation on a theme?

What do you guys do about it, at the moment as quick as I set up a filter another one appears?

Also does this hurt your rankings etc in any way, or should I just leave it be and chill?

You can disavow links in Google Webmaster Tools. But do it sparingly. I mean I’d assume Google can figure out which sites are spammy. The problem is if most of your links come from those types of sites.

In terms of webking’s “does it matter?” question – in most cases it probably doesn’t. But it does matter when it comes to stats because it can throw off your stats enough that you can make erroneous conclusions.

I’ve implemented reCAPTCHA v3 (invisible to users), and have tied that to Google Analytics and also use it at key moments in other stats I collect, and when they do any important actions (like submitting content). If I see a bot doing something truly suspicious I’ll ban the IP address.
