    I know a lot of people balk at Nat Net’s pricing, but honestly, isn’t this a shining example of why you need to pay for a good host. Hosting is the cornerstone of your business. While I could get cheaper hosting I decided that it’s worth paying extra money to make sure my business is safe.

    I can’t sell memberships if my sites aren’t online.

    Aside from that, if I have a problem, need a script installed, need advice, whatever, I just put in a ticket with Nat Net and it’s taken care of for me.

    I used to love NationalNet, but recently they have been taking FOREVER, to do simple tasks, like setting up emails (3+ hours sometimes) Their support has gotten a little groggy over the last year.
    If i had a c-panel, i could do this in seconds.

    Agreed, and honestly I’m paying about the same for NatNet as I was with my last host, only with much better service and servers.

    Every once in awhile this happens when they are slammed. About 95% of the time though I have a Tech working on my ticket within a few minutes, and the job done within an hour. The exception is bigger jobs which I like to schedule for certain times with the Techs I like (Tyler is GREAT). I do agree it would be nice to have c-panel access, perhaps you could ask Bill.

    @Richard,

    All you have to do is use skype and call their tech support, they will open the ticket and get the email account created while you are on the phone waiting! It will cost ya prolly 5 cents in skype fees, sure, but IMHO its worth it!

    Sorry. Wasn’t sure if this was worth a different thread.

    I haven’t been in the biz for that long, but is it generally understood practice not to buy a domain from your hosting server? Is this a rare exception? Or is it one of those things where it isn’t a problem until it’s a problem – and then it’s a huge problem.

    I certainly don’t balk at Nat Net’s pricing, I have two servers with them. This server is with a different adult host and is a lot more money than Nat Net’s server pricing plans with a lot less service. You are certainly right, Nat Net is a great host with great service, and it was Luke’s sale of Chilihost to them that served as my introduction to them… so thanks to Luke for that!

    Garilol, I am taking a dual approach to this issue. Carrot and stick. I am preparing everything I need to prove my issue and recording it in such a manner that it’s irrefutable. When that is ready, I’ll give the host a chance to settle quietly before passing this off to an IP lawyer.

    This sounds like a good approach. I know what stress it is when dealing with these kind of issues with hosts, which is why like others on here I really recommend a reputable host like Natnet. Good luck to you and hope it goes well!

    @maxaff,

    The domain names were not purchased from the host. You are right, it is not something that should be done. ever.

    Like jaixar mention if you do have anything else of value hosted with them like other domain names I would get that moved before doing anything else.
