A stupid question, but just wondering, can you make any decent income by focusing on adult cam sites? I mean, do they sell more than membership sites or less… are they over saturated? Is anyone paying for cams … this biz… it will be the end of me!

that said it takes patience, time and the right traffic.

Cams are difficult … I think it really depends on the kind of traffic you have. I’ve tried them a few times and just gave up after sending 20,000 clicks with nothing.
From my AVS days, the webmasters who made the most money with Flirt 4 Free were escort portals. And that stands to reason. Thing about cams this way, and sorry if I’m being mean, but I think this is the reality.
1. If you’re young, cute, and hung enough you probably don’t need to pay people to jack off with you on cam, you can go to a free cam site for that.
2. If you’re young and don’t have a great paying job, you probably don’t have $12 a minute to throw away talking to a cam model.
3. Most of the men who hire escorts are probably (a) old, (b) fat, (c) ugly, or (d) a shut in. I said “most” not all. If you are paying for it you probably can’t easily get it any other way. Sure, if I were rich enough, I’d probably just hire in an escort when I felt like having sex with someone else because it’s easy. Find someone you like, tell them exactly what you want, and presto! you’re done. Rinse and repeat in three weeks. But I don’t think this is the case with most people who hire escorts.
4. If you want to play with the paid cams, you have to be rich or have a lot of credit limit on your card.
I used to know a guy who worked for one of the big sites and he said that a couple of his best spending clients didn’t even want him to pull out his cock. They just wanted someone to talk to, and for that, they were willing to pay. He gave them a fantasy that he cared about them and he was their friend and was always there for them.
I think if you have a lot of older men cruising your site, you’ll probably do alright with cams. But I think if you have a lot of guys under 30, or even under 40, you probably won’t do so well. You’ll get a lot of tire kickers.
It takes a lot of traffic (and the right kind of traffic) to make money on cams. I have tried most of them and gave up a few weeks / months later. The last one I tried was Video Secrets and my ratios sucked again. I pulled most of my links, cause I felt I was throwing traffic away.
Then, all of a sudden I referred 3 guys in one month. All three of them spend a couple of hundred dollars every month and they keep coming back. Too bad I only get 20% commission, but it really adds up. If you refer a couple of those guys, you can easily make a nice income from cams alone. It just takes a while and I also think you need some luck.
