I always suggest focussing on the SEO and I can tell you that it is very easy to understand (it just depends how you present the information) and even a person that has never heard of it, should be able to grasp the idea of it.
So the most understandable way to put how SEO works into words is to say that you just have to create a unique content (post your own handwritten titles, preferably some text in the post, tags, the more things the better) and get links from related (in your niche) authority sites that do well on the Google.
Once you keep working and improving on that, you will get more trust from Google and they will give you more and more traffic and the best part is that it is the best kind of traffic you can get since it is highly targeted (unlike the one you can get from the social media platforms) and it is completely free.
Of course, I do not want to tell you that you should not try to promote your adult site on the Twitter or Reddit. I think that you can use them to gain some traffic, but your main focus should be on the SEO, since it is the best investment you can make if you really want a great converting traffic coming your way.
