I have tried and tried to get a sensible answer from PayPal over the issue of adult content, and it’s impossible.

It seems as though no one there actually knows the policy on this, and they all make it up as they go along depending on their individual moralistic views. And of course, with a corporation like PayPal you have absolutely no chance to fight it unless you can afford to pay a lawyer a few million over the next ten years.

As it stands now, selling tangible goods is okay (there are limited items they won’t let you sell), but digital adult content is a no-no. B2B is a different matter, and it seems that if you’re accepting payment for providing a service to an adult media company they’ll allow it. I have had no problems accepting affiliate payments from studios, selling adult goods and invoicing clients for content.

About six months ago I attempted to check for an update in the T’s & C’s to explain the changes relating to affiliate money, and I even tried to talk to someone on the forums there about this issue. There is no obvious explanation that could stand up in court. It seems to me that they have done this deliberately for their benefit. They can shut down any account they like, at any time, steal your money, and you have absolutely no legal recourse.
