There are a lot of sites, particularly in my niche, that have tours that are just stolen/saved pictures of regular guys (often of naked minors, too). The content inside obviously doesn’t match ANYTHING on the tour because it can’t.

Yes, they sell well– because they save the most attractive pictures from twitter, tumblr, etc…

BUT– sooo much porn is free. When a consumer pulls out their wallet and spends their hard earned money only to be tricked, they’ll remember that. They’re much less likely to buy porn again.

I doubt anyone can argue with that… so, why promote these sites? Please stop It hurts you, it hurts me, it hurts everyone but the criminals that are hastening the destruction of our livelihoods.

Speaking of– the main site I had in mind is now blocked by my anti-virus software as a Phishing site.

Perhaps the karma Gods are on duty today.

You know what they say about holding a fart in … you might as well let it out now. What site are you talking about?

I don’t want to step on any toes so I’ve PMed you the site that was on my mind when posting that– but, that said, even GayDemon acknowledges on their review that nothing on the tour is in the site.

I don’t understand why affiliates push sites for a quick buck when it has a direct impact on their future sales. I also don’t understand why Epoch would approve a site that is essentially a bait and switch.

Imagine if you went grocery shopping and picked up a Snickers Bar and inside the wrapper was dogshit. Would you ever buy a Snickers again? Would Kroger stock the mislabeled dog terds after the first complaint?

We keep bitching and moaning about the decline of income with porn and yet we keep fucking the customers over.

I really don’t think is the old bait and switch that is the problem these days.

The problem is that everyone has an HD video camera in the pocket and with services like tumblr allowing anyone to post their amateur porn there really is no need to pay for porn anymore and honestly the generation that was/is willing to pay are dropping like flies of old age.

The generation using the internet today grew up with “free” porn (professional porn posted on tubes) and then started making their own with the rise of smartphones. They see no reason to pay for porn and I don’t blame them.

That’s what Im saying– with so much free out there on tumblr, twitter, tubes (we can’t really do anything about that)– the people who are willing to pay are what we have left… and one program in particular is fist fucking them and because “we” are all so eager for sales, we’re short sighted enough to let them kill the customers that are left (we can stop promoting bait and switch sites).

I made the mistake a while back of signing up to a program I thought was legit, had similar problems as you britton, tripped me out when the site was tagged from the promotional link. Needless to say I never promoted anything by them, I kind of suspect it may be the same program you’re referring to.

That is so true, and what makes matters far worse, the lines have become slightly blurred as to what is pro and what is am. I’m old enough to have seen the adult industry from it’s infancy, to it’s current state. All I can say is I wish there was some free porn back when I was a strapping young baller, I’d probably still have about a half a mil in the bank now.

It’s an unfortunate state of affairs, as the expense of running and producing sites has caused so many companies to not update, upgrade, or compete with all the fresh free stuff that’s going around. Then there are the cookie cutter sites that some companies are roping people into hosting, that totally wind the clock back about ten years, ‘wish lists’ and a myriad of outbound / traffic leaks have made so many sites not worth promoting.

I’m one who enjoys amateur porn, but there has to be a distinction. You’re right, everyone’s a producer now, and the quality is suffering big time as a result, plus so much of it is free and the ones who will pay for porn are spending their hard earned $ on products and clothes for their favorite stars.

i’m pretty sure i know the network britton is talking about. their sites have beautiful, well laid-out tours showing hot guys and smallish but very high quality pics. inside the member areas most of the videos are lower in quality than those pics on the tour and the guys are less hot than the ones on the tour. and they’re just not the same guys at all. the designer also photoshops bigger – well, impossibly big – dicks on some of the guys, and you won’t find that in the member area, either. the guys from the tour don’t appear in the picture sets, either, many of which are low amateur quality selfies or home videos shot on a poor quality webcam.

I really think that if this discussion is meant to be a warning the sites or network should be named….

    Ah, what the hell..

It may be a good practice to steal and lie to your customers on Ferenginar but here on earth its very short-sighted. They’re absolutely destroying the trust of the remaining demographic of people willing to pay for porn. Promoting stolen pictures, many of which are of children, on a tour and then selling them totally different porn may be good for quick sales but you shouldn’t do it.

    – I’m in no way picking a fight with that program (just calling a kettle black)
    – I’m in no way judging those of you that promote them (just wondering why you don’t look at the larger picture)

I think Industry “enablers” like their billers should disable their sites until their tours reflect the content being purchased. I think ALL sites should be held to that standard and to be frank, we go through an approval process… so what is being approved if not the legitimacy of our sites? I personally know some of the guys pictured on their tours and some of them were absolutely children when those photos were taken.
