From what I understand, it would make sense to have those filters applied. I take down videos of live cam models on a weekly basis. I think it is a good idea to not allow every idiot to upload videos which he does not own. Not to mention that if a girl was recorded on flirt4free, I see videos of her uploaded with a watermark of an Imlive white label, for example, when she has never had a model account on Imlive. That is why I think it is a good thing to apply those filters. Nowadays anyone can upload whatever the fuck they want on the internet, and they get away with everything.

I believe this would help small porn sites, too, because only promotional content received from the sponsor will be used. Any other content that is not approved by the sponsor, will not be approved, and the ones that already exist will be removed, eventually. And considering that promotional videos are small in length, maybe the users will want to make a subscription to the sponsor site for the full-length videos, thus generating income for the webmasters and also supporting the porn industry, which has been rapidly declining in the last years, since 2006, when the tubes emerged. Of course Mind Geek is scared, because they host a lot of copyrighted material, and they only remove it upon request. They want to have users upload anything on their network, so that they can make money on auto-pilot. Maybe it is time for the big tubes to fall, and small webmasters to rise.

It seems like a good idea, but we will see to hear more details on how it will work. Of course, the biggest guys like MindGeek are scared because they fear any change of the current state which is very favorable for them.
