Yes, don’t use one. Why do you need a program? I’d never trust my SEO to third-party software. And these days, Google seems to be heading more and more in the direction of more natural writing with the use of synonyms. I can’t really see how software can help with that.

With software, you’re really trusting that the software people have gotten it right.

What were you using and why are you wanting to stop?

Google has always said that content is the most important aspect in the success of a site. But they want it to be natural as well as informative. This hasn’t changed and they will always be working towards perfecting that goal. They are getting there, and writing is now the most important aspect of a site and its SEO objectives.

All you really need to do is write, and write as much as you can for each scene or shoot, with the right level of on-page SEO to go with it. My clients do fine with that level of SEO in text and none of them use any outside SEO services that I am aware of. All they do is add content that appeals to their surfers, then I add text to sell it and make it “Google friendly”.

Let your readers do the sharing and link building for you based on what you offer.

Quite the opposite, you need to be careful. Some SEO software might be relying on tricks or last year’s technique of the moment.

Also, Google has recently become more focused on sites that are “overly optimized”. No one really knows what that means, because Google is so damned secretive. But a lot of people suggest that it’s sites that are just “too perfect” to be true.

There is also going to be an inevitable focus on linking. That’s traditionally been a way for people to artificially boost the perception of a site, so it seems reasonable that Google would focus on ways to weed out the culprits more effectively. For instance, if you have a hundred links all suddenly appear for your site and they all link to different pages, that would be a red flag. It suggests a concerted effort to link rather than people finding one page that’s amazing and wanting to share it.

I don’t do linking. I promote new products when they’re added to the adult site, and I tweet new posts on a blog, but that’s it. I would suggest you just provide ways for people to follow and share your content, and write content that appeals to them and clearly tells Google what it’s about. That’s the natural way to do it, and it’s what Google would expect of you. Anything else is playing with fire IMO.
