Yeah, I have read your blog a few times. It is great. However, tried Tumblr for images, have several accounts uploaded around 1k images, but got only a few clicks. Is it normal? Btw, how much of Twitter posts, images, etc. you’ve to make before getting a decent amount of traffic for your adult site?

Social media is not easy. Your followers probably have hundreds if not thousands of other pages in their feeds so many will not see your posts so that is why you might have a few clicks.

The other thing is that people do not like to click on the bare links, because they might consider it as another spam post, so it is better to post a picture and a link along with some text describing what they will see after the clickthrough like “Click to watch her video” or something like that is proven to get much higher engagement.

Also, do not post affiliate links on Twitter or Tumblr. They do not do allow it. I had accounts disabled that way. I post a comment, tags and a site URL.

I can not tell you how long does it take to get x amount of traffic, because with the every single account I have it is always different.

I have a few over 100 k Tumblr or Twitter pages with thousands of pictures and they bring about 500 visitors every day. It is nothing compared to how much traffic I get from search engines.

I treat social media as an additional traffic source and I recommend everyone to do the same, because especially if you are promoting adult stuff, they can delete you just like that or they can change their rules one day and they no longer allow adult content – I would not surprised to see that happen on Twitter or Tumblr.

You should focus on building your site/s, adding new content and working slowly on the SEO part because organic traffic is best you can, it is free and very targeted so it can bring way more sales than any other traffic source.

    Mr. Adult Affiliate,

This post is to let your readers know. I actually, joined Twitter, for my “Mainstream” websites a few years ago. But, recently, after I got my Adult website, I registered a new Twitter account and started following “Adult” websites and then, I just followed the “People” who followed the Adult websites. I’m now following 700 people and I have 125 followers.

Also, I must mention. I really like your website, it’s very informative. Keep it up (no pun intended.)

Welcome and thanks, Bob. Make sure to diversify and get traffic from different sources (definitely organic one is best, but you need a website to get that). Like I said, having your own adult site that you control is the best thing if you are in it for a long haul 🙂
