There is no a clear winner in this battle because both ways of promotion have their own benefits. Basically, if you have got a long domain name like freesexygirlscams.com or live-girls-porn.com, then it is better to send your traffic directly to the sponsor, because most of the users will not trust such a site and they will not give their private information.
But if you have got a nice niche name like ebonywebcams.com or something like that, then it is definitely more to build a white label on it because it is easy to remember and it does look professional. Another advantage of the white labels over sponsors is that people will bookmark your website if they like it and they will keep coming back to your place.
You should check out the link profile, but if it does not have any backlinks, it should be fine, but to be more sure, you need to use the site like archive.org to check the history of this domain and see if it had a real site or if there was done any spamming or a blackhat stuff on it.
Unfortunately, there is no other alternative to the KenPlayer that you could buy publicly. There were more of them before, but tubes found ways to stop them from working.

Yes, that is all I do. The thing is that Google will automatically select the meta descriptions from the first paragraphs of your post (in this case video).
You could do this for long blog posts, but for videos, it will take a lot of time and I do not do this on any of my adult sites.
