  • in reply to: How many WordPress installation on the same db? #3334

Separating your databases increases your security and decreases your chances of a database corruption. I would put 1 install per database per user.

in reply to: Compressing Adult Videos #3323

As some others stated before 2 MB probably is not enough data to give you a sufficient quality for a trailer. But of course the final size depends on resolution, compression and duration.

However, it is possible to integrate bigger videos to WP sites. You will need to install a plugin that handles your media and allows for bigger videos. I am sure I did this in the past but since I do not operate WP sites anymore myself I forgot the name of the plugin. Just search for tags like “video”, “mp4” or suchlike.

in reply to: Which One is Right Choice You Think Adult Tube or Blog? #3311

I agree with what Dan has already said.

Go with the one you prefer more. If you like to write long posts, then you should probably start a blog but if you prefer to post videos with small amount of text, then you should definitely start your own video site.

Both ways are profitable, but tube sites are getting more and more popular these days and they seem to dominate most of the adult related traffic on the Google.

Make no mistake, I run blogs and they can still get a lot of organic traffic too.

I also have some adult sites that do both.

Best of luck everyone with your online businesses.

in reply to: What sells best – Banners or Text Links? #3308

Banners get less clicks. The CTR on a banner vs. a text link is huge…

Take any page and toss a banner up, and you may get 2% that click it, but may convert at 1:100 (surfers know that a banner leads to a paysite).

On the same page, 10% may click on a text link, but it may convert at 1:300 or higher.

It is really hard to say what you will get more sales from. Probably you will get more surfers to the site with text links. That in the end may or may not mean more sales.

Banner clickers are more qualified traffic than text link, but the ratio is much lower that will click.

I think that if your text links entice surfers to click and are accurate of what you are trying to market, then you will make more sales via text links just by the volume that will click.

You will get better conversions with banners, but text links will make more sales.

Sometimes it is hard to put a text link in a design that calls for a banner. Also keep in mind that banners help brand, so your text links will do better.

This is another great reason to measure visits and sales to your sponsor sites constantly. Measure results, and check it out/make changes when sales deteriorate.

in reply to: Update days #3264

    @narmistar,

True, but they know when you do update now, and some who are re billers, plan their days accordingly. May sound daft, but people are creatures of habit, and if you change their comfort zone, they get cranky. That can lead to a fit of anger which can pass, or can end in a ‘no, I ain’t signing up for another month’.

in reply to: Update days #3261

Ask your members, because they are already used to your update dates, so maybe a change might not go over well with them, assuming there are a fair number, which I would wager there are.

Really depends. I tend to do better with sites from smaller programs as they are usually not over saturated.

in reply to: blog domains – is there an advantage? #3217

From an SEO perspective you absolutely should have them on the same site.

    seomoz.org/blog/subdomain…plevel-domains

I love the quote from that article… “When to use an entirely new domain… When you don’t want it to rank at the search engines.”

These days the search engines want to link to authoritative sites – sites they can trust. It is the reason why even stub articles in Wikipedia can rank for some search terms.

Yes, you may have a business reason to use separate domains (like you want to sell one of them), but there are other ways around that, like 301ing the directory when you do the sale. If you chose a different option make sure you know what you are potentially giving up by doing it…

So, from an SEO perspective – keep everything on the same site…
