Skinny BI do not think that you really need it. The thing is that SEO is very easy to understand (but much harder to do for many reasons), it is just that some bloggers complicate it. It all boils down basically to adding new content, whether it be blog posts, videos, cam feeds and making sure that they are unique (titles and some descriptions) and then getting quality backlinks (you might get some for free if you do it smart from forums and you can always buy them).
These are the two main things that you need to work on constantly, but also make sure that your site loads fast, the theme looks great (it can be looking modest, but make sure that it looks clean) and watch out for a few other things. I go in detail about all of this in these links:
